International Conferences

 

The operation track record of Okinawa Congrès Inc. in organizing large-scale and important international conferences held within Okinawa Prefecture is among the best in the prefecture. “Okinawa Congrès Inc. is the company to approach when you have to hold a challenging international conference” is the outstanding reputation that we have gained.

Organized the 23rd Inter-Islands Tourism Policy Forum

 

We organized the 23rd Inter-Islands Tourism Policy (ITOP) Forum of 2019 held in Okinawa on November 6. ITOP was started in 1997 by the four islands of Hainan (China), Bali (Indonesia), Okinawa and Jeju Island (South Korea) to discuss common issues related to tourism products of island regions, promotion of economic growth, and research surveys for appropriate tourism management.
The banquet venue Shurijo Castle was destroyed by fire two days before the event. We immediately proposed the "Valley of Gangala" as an alternative venue so that the guests could enjoy a unique venue in Okinawa.

 

 

Organized ISMET7

 

The International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology (ISMET) was established in Pennsylvania, USA, in 2011. The first international conference of ISMET in Asia ISMET7 was held at Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University, from October 7 to 11, 2019, with 230 attendees from 28 countries. Seven world-renowned researchers in this field were invited as speakers, and lively discussions were held during the conference.

 

 

Organized the High School Students Islands Summit on “World Tsunami Awareness Day” 2017

 

The event was held on November 7 and 8, 2017, to coincide with the international day “World Tsunami Awareness Day” to educate children across the globe, who are the next generation, about the threats and measures for tsunamis. High school students from Japan and 25 other countries gathered under one roof in Okinawa. We used breakout sessions for the discussions, where students shared information on threats of natural disasters, including tsunami and disaster prevention, and participated in lively discussions.

 

 

Organized the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) Conference

 

The Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) is an international body established in December 1969 by volunteer patent attorneys from Japan, Taiwan and South Korea in response to an initiative by Japan. We managed the General Assembly held at the Okinawa Convention Center from November 13 to 17, 2015.

 

 

Organized the 11th Asia Pacific Orchid Conference and Exhibition - Okinawa Convention

 

We organized the “11th Asia Pacific Orchid Conference and Exhibition - Okinawa Convention - (APOC11) ”, the largest orchid festival of Asia Pacific, which was held for ten days between February 2 to 11, 2013, at the same time as the “27th Okinawa International Orchid Show”. APOC11 is an international orchid festival organized every three years, in which about 20 countries and regions participate, mainly from the Asia Pacific.
The event was held in Okinawa for the first time, and 30,000 orchids from about 20 countries filled the venue.

 

 

Organized the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Okinawa

 

Together with Congrès headquarters, we managed the Okinawa General Meeting of Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the world’s largest international conference held from April 10 to 12, 2005.
This international conference was to support the social and economic development of South and Central America, attended by 3,150 attendees, who took part in lively discussions.
