Request to Chairpersons

  • 1. Please come to the Chairperson Registration next to the Registration desk at Event Hall.
  • 2. Please be seated in the next chairperson's seat 10 minutes prior to the beginning of your session.
  • 3. Presentation and discussion times for symposists are at the discretion of the chairperson.
  • 4. Presentation and discussion times are as follows:
    Oral presentation: 7 minutes / Discussion: 3 minutes
  • 5. Presentation for Outstanding Researcher Award: 3 minutes (Only Presentation)

Presentation Time

Lecture, Symposium, Workshop, and Panel discussion:

Presentation Format

  • 1. The only equipment provided for presentations will be a single-screened PC Projector. Do not bring your own laptop. Please save your presentation data onto a USB memory stick. Data will be accepted in this format only.

*NOTE: Please do not save other data in addition to your presentation on your USB memory stick as this will create confusion.

Please bring a back-up copy of your data on another USB memory stick or CD-R.
Please be aware that slide presentations will not be possible.

  • 2. There will be a monitor placed on the podium during the presentation, and presenters will be able to proceed to the next screen using a PC. The operator will prepare the data when it is time for the presenter to take the podium.

Presentation Instruction

  • 1. The OS and applications for the PC provided for presentations are as follows:
    Windows VISTA XP, Office 2007, PowerPoint 2000 / 2003 / 2007.

*NOTE: Macintosh computer is not available for your presentation.

Be sure to save the file with the PowerPoint 2000, 2003, or 2007.

  • 2. The fonts for your presentation should be standard ones like Arial, Century or Times New Roman. Do not use special or downloaded fonts.
  • 3. To avoid technical problems and delays with downloading times, please do not use special characters, large data files, or logo marks.
  • 4. Please name the data file "your presentation number.ppt" (eg. P-14.ppt).
  • 5. Please do NOT use sound or moving images.

Preview of your presentation

You can preview your presentation on the day before your presentation. Computers will be available at the computer desk near the main entrance on Event Hall. The time will be as follows.

Uptake of your presentation data into the computer on the podium

  • 1. Hand the USB memory stick to the operator near the Next Speaker's seat at least 30 minutes prior to your session.
  • 2. The USB memory will be returned just after the transfer of data.

Discussion time

Individuals wishing to ask questions will be line up at the microphone provided in the room. They should give their name and affiliation before starting questions. Questions should be brief and simple.

Request to Presenters for the Outstanding Researcher Award

  • 1. Preparation for oral presentation should refer to the instructions for the Oral presenters as mentioned above.
  • 2. Preparation for poster presentation should refer to the following instructions for the poster presenters.
  • 3. The names of the winners will be displayed at 17:00 on June 17, at the main Registration desk in the Event Hall.
  • 4. The awards ceremony will take place at 13:15 on June 18, in Room 1 (Conference Room A1). Award winners are requested to come to the room by no later than 13:00. Award winners will receive prize money and a certificate.

Format

Prepare your poster in the size of 110×150 cm or smaller.
In the designated area at the top of the panel (length 15 cm by width 85 cm), print the title of the presentation, the name of the presenter, and affiliation. Use the remaining space below as you like to display your objective, text, graphs and charts, summary etc.

Exhibition

After confirming your poster number, mount your poster in the designated place. Pushpins, and presenter's ribbons will be available at your panel. Although the panel will be 110 cm wide by 150 cm in length, try to keep the contents in a possition as high as possible to allow for easy viewing.

Presentation ・Discussion

Presenters are requested to come to the front of your poster at least 10 minutes before the presentation starts, and please start on time. Presenters are required to wear the presenter's ribbon during the question and answer time.

Removal

Please place magnets and your presenter's ribbon in a paper cup and leave it in front of the panel. Posters that have not been removed by the end of the removal time will be removed and disposed by the Secretariat.
