このたび、角膜カンファランス2027を沖縄にて開催させていただくこととなりました。

本会の開催にあたり、日本角膜学会の理事、評議員、学会員の皆様をはじめ、ご支援・ご協力を賜りました関係各位、ならびに日頃より本会を支えてくださっている皆様に、心より御礼申し上げます。

本会は、長年にわたり我が国の角膜診療・研究の発展を支えてきました。今回は第51回目の日本角膜学会にあたる年であり、これまでの歩みを確かな基盤としつつ、次の50年に向けた新たな出発点となる会であると考えております。

近年、角膜領域は基礎研究から臨床、再生医療に至るまで大きな進展を遂げるとともに、他分野との接点もますます広がりを見せています。

こうした背景を踏まえ、本会ではあえて明確なテーマを定めず、「テーマを設けないこと」そのものを本会の特徴として開催することといたしました。参加される皆様が率直に意見を交わす中から、次の時代につながる問いや発想が自然に生まれることを期待しております。

国際的な交流拠点の一つである沖縄の地において開催するにあたり、自由闊達な議論が将来へとつながっていく場となることを目指しています。
多くの皆様のご参加を、心よりお待ち申し上げております。

It is my great pleasure to announce that the Cornea Conference 2027 will be held in Okinawa, Japan. 

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the board members and members of the Japanese Cornea Society, as well as to all individuals and organizations who have provided their support and cooperation for the organization of this meeting, and to everyone who has continuously supported this conference.

This meeting has long contributed to the advancement of corneal research and clinical practice in Japan. This year marks the 51st annual meeting of the Japanese Cornea Society, and we consider it a new starting point toward the next fifty years, built upon the solid foundation established by our predecessors.

In recent years, the field of cornea has achieved significant progress, spanning basic research, clinical practice, and regenerative medicine, while its connections with other disciplines have continued to expand. Against this background, we have deliberately chosen not to define a specific theme, positioning the absence of a theme itself as a defining characteristic of this meeting.

We hope that through open and frank exchanges of ideas among participants, new questions and perspectives leading to the next era will naturally emerge. By holding this meeting in Okinawa, one of Japan’s international hubs for exchange, we aim to create a setting in which free and active discussion can develop into future progress.
